Tara Crooks, or
“Household 6″ in the Crooks’ family, is best known for
her ability to motivate and empower others. Tara
started her career as a retail manager for Nine West
Group, Inc. Recruited by Old Navy (GAP INC), Tara
continued to climb the corporate retail ladder with
much success! In early 2000, Tara chose to leave
retail to pursue completion of her college degree. In
returning to classes, she took a full-time position in
Human Resources. In late 2000, she and her husband,
Kevin, decided to start a family. The team decided,
given Kevin’s career choice, that Tara would work from
home.
Tara began her work
from home career in Direct Sales as a Mary Kay
representative. She continued to climb the ladder of
success, however, she always felt as if “something was
missing”. In 2001, she and her husband welcomed their
first baby girl, Wrena. It was with the completion of
her Bachelors of Business Administration in Human
Resource Management and the birth of her daughter,
that Tara decided to break out her entrepreneurial
spirit and go for the gold! She opened her first
website The Candle Coop in late 2001 and
began working with a distributor to sell highly
scented apothecary jar candles via the internet and
home parties. Tara has since sold The Candle Coop
and through a series of unlikely events found her
“niche”.
Through the work
she did with work at home moms through The Candle
Coop Tara learned that motivating and empowering
women was something she was good at doing. She saw a
void in the area of moms advertising their businesses
online. To fill this void she opened Advertising
Moms (www.advertisingmoms.com).
In 2005 Tara started doing talk radio interviews with
Kelly McCausey owner of
http://www.wahmtalkradio.com/.
It was Kelly’s encouragement and support that led Tara
to where she is today.
Tara currently
owns/co-owns and operates three highly successful
websites,
http://www.armywifetalkradio.com/,
www.LovingASoldier.com
and
www.FieldProblems.com.
